Lost in a Book
Within the covers of a book which holds the interest of my mind will often lead to being hook upon each page of every line
I get lost in the Author's muse stories that seem to weave a web of mystery that can cruise towards a venue that can deceive

Getting lost in a book
Books have always been my friends, they wear all kinds of faces Poems, adventure or romance, in my heart they have their places. Remembering my childhood days, for freedom I used a lever Made out I was ill to stay in bed, knowing how to get fever.
With tea, toast and Mum’s loving care, I read hour by hour And when suspense made my cheecks red, it seemed the fever’s power. Tales of 1001 night drew me in, while at school my mates Struggled hard with math tests, hoping for the bell at the gates.
Years later then to my kids I read, for finding my sleep too Trained history with pupils, enjoyed how their fantasies grew. My very own library, bookshelfs along all the walls Is my joy and my refuge when duties lessen, a book calls.
Retirement gave a new chance, but now spare moments are few Computer tried to take the role and my books stand in a queue. Horizon of interests widened, even if I have to crook, I want time for computer AND want to get lost in a book!

Mystic it does seem to me you do get lost at time, especially when computers did not exist, ha, ha. Now the computer is the place you get lost, so do I.

Mystic, what a lovely theme, and I did enjoy your poem, and can identify absolutely! There is Nothing Like a Book! I love them, but my house is now, rather, I think too full of books...I will have to get rid of some, but do not know where to start! (I will never get rid of "Heidi," or, "A Child's Garden of Verses." )
I love my flowered china, I love the way it looks, but nothing gives me pleasure like my books, my books, my books!
I love my diamond necklace, my bracelet and my ring, but it's books upon my shelves that cause my heart sing.
Each binding is quite special, paperback or hide, gold edging is a bonus, but without it I don't mind!
I love the words contained within, printing, ink and pages, and every book that ever I read, I love for all the ages.
Each book is special, large or small, I love their feel, for within each printed page is something true and real.
I have lots of books on gardens, poetry, poets and bees! My taste is quite eclectic, so forgive me if you please!
Nothing beats the feeling of my hands around a book, I wish that you could visit me and come and take a look...
at my library of well-loved tomes, collected over years, if you love books as I do, you are Welcome here, my dears!
