Christmas candles
(A time for Joy)
In the glow of candlelight
let us remember tonight,
our love for one another,
while the candles shine so bright.
Light a candle at Christmas
while hearing choirs sing
keeping faith and hope alive
and hearing church bells ring.
As we light our candles
let us rejoice tonight.
A time for joy and peace for us,
in the glow of candlelight.
Let's all be happy this Christmas
as we celebrate Christ's birth
letting his light surround us
as we wish for Peace on Earth.

Times of Joy
We reached where times of joy begin,
Secrets, scents and warmth within.
Decorations dusted with a smile
And Christmas cookies bake meanwhile.
The children learn verses by heart
To remember them they are smart,
The Carols – well – still out of tune
With the flute they’ll sound right soon.
A special joy starts with December,
We adults may often remember
How simple has been our childhood,
Wool-stockings, no doll -- we understood?
Hopes and dreams filled the kids instead,
They whispered and giggled till time for bed.
Dad was fixing the last piece of train,
While knitting, mother hummed a refrain.
Pre-joy for Christmas is time of glee
When love and peace must be flowing free.
Let’s make it a time to really share --
For your times of joy I say a prayer.
