I know an old appletree In September is beautiful to see it starts to bud in June And apples get redder in the August moon
Young children giggle with glee For in the past, children planted the tree For young children love to play Around the appletree each day.

Such a delight in Spring is the old apple tree, never fails to delight the honey bee and me!
The air is filled with perfume from those fragrant flowers, and amidst the pink and white you'll see honey bees for hours.
The blossom does not last long, thanks to April rain, but miracles happen in the tree, that make us gasp again!
For come September, look above, into the leafy green.. there will be rosy apples there, the best you've ever seen!
Let's thank God for Nature, and all her wondrous bounty (I live in Lancashire which is a most productive county!)

I must say, Doreen your poem is beautiful in each stanza, and I agree with Mystic and Doreen, so nice to see you on this forum. Even better to see you can still write my friend, give me time, and a surprise will appear in your mailbox, you can share it if you want. I am taken by your words, sweetness not only lies in the apples you write about, that is for sure.

The Bee in the Old Apple Tree
I sat under an old apple tree just the other day as I looked up I spied a bee who was about to stray
He flew between the apples hanging taking straight aim at me bracing myself for a good stinging from this crazy bee
He stung me good which made me mad I decided I'd better flee from this bee that is so cad who lives in this old apple tree

The old Apple tree
How often over years I sat in the shade Of our old Apple tree, green like jade. The branches now with scars and a rough bark, Once holding a swing, with marks scrubbed stark.
It gave me shelter whenever I’ve been sad With gentle voice he soothed away the bad, The leaves were whispering of hope a song And tears dried up, my world no longer wrong.
The Autumn then, when colours paint it all, The brisk winds help the golden apples fall. The heart is talking to the heavens above Through melancholy it proves lasting love.
The life of my now old Apple tree, What over decades seemed infinitly, With weary branches, still strong and bold It makes me feel nature’s wonderful hold.
