A Tranquil Sunday
A tranquil Sunday is hard to do when the heat of summer beats on you so dry with rain a wish we only dream even the night air turns to steam
I dread when starlight begins to fade it makes one look for a spot of shade it keeps the sun from burning the skin still one cusses and that's a sin
An early fall will cure all woes even better when one lights the coals till then we'll face the heat of summer for me it is a real bummer

We've got a taste of such heatwave and had to cope with 100F, thank heavens only for 2 weeks and not months like you. Take care! Thank you for sharing your poem!

A tranquil Sunday
One of those tranquil Sundays with no work to do No noise around, just nature’s whisper and thoughts of you. The book I meant to read, lies closed in my lap I rather think and dream, in between a nap.
In my ‘old-fashioned’ country no shop is open, Sunday is meant for a rest and not much is spoken. A gentle breeze is playing with my hair and I Feel worries dissolve, off with the wind they fly.
Faith in the good is setting in my day and mind, Whatever we fear we know our Creator is kind. In a tranquil Sunday, peaceful and serene There are merciful spirits from heaven unseen.

Mystic, love your last two lines "In a tranquil Sunday, peaceful and serene There are merciful spirits from heaven unseen"
Mystic, your country Sunday is indeed tranquil and so serene, thanks for sharing, and your kind comment.....

Hope you are feeling better Mystic This is my tranquil Sunday
Sunday Tranquility
The cat lurks in the long grass, Patiently waiting. Baby birds in the new world, Innocently wary. Bees on sweet flowers, Buzzing, vibrating. Dragonflies, transparent wings, Dazzling, zigzagging. A sweet smell, From a beautiful rose.
Breeze blows leaves, Shaking, whispering. Barbecue smells, Charcoal burning. While I’m on my deck-chair, Lazing, sleeping. Noise from a grass cutter, Reverberates, humming. My peace is over, Tranquility fading...
Gone.
