This little poem has long been a favourite. I'm afraid I don't know who wrote it, but have a feeling that it was that prolific writer, ANON.
Hurt no living thing, ladybird nor butterfly, nor moth with dusty wing. Nor cricket chirping cheerily, nor grasshopper so light of leap, nor dancing gnat, not beetle fat, nor harmless worm that creeps.

It was written by Christina Rossetti Norma, I have it in one of my books.

Thanks Alan, I have one of her books, but it doesn't contain this one which I found years ago in a child's book. Thanks for solving the mystery.
