My summer
Barefoot walking hand in hand
digging toes in sun warmed sand.
Golden skies and shimmering seas
Salty air and and cool sea breeze.
Soothing songbirds, skies now blue
the sounds of Summer, me and you.
Children happily at play
on a hot summer day.
and when at last, the day is done
I love to watch the setting sun

Summer
Summer begins it comes in the hollows of the winds
alerting birds to mate upon the budding limbs
engaging the torrents of Mother Natures whims
creating the storms we hope will skim
We hold in terror of climatic change
for death does ride within the winds
it strikes without limits or range
Like pawns we hide within sheltered dens

A longer hard Winter
and no touch of Spring
but Summer is out now
sunshine is drinking the blue skies above
