The new Weekly Theme should not make you hesitate by the "strange" title!
Shangri-la (paradisial place)

My Shangri-la
My brother’s garden is a bit of heaven Away from the worries and cares of life A place I can sit and be at peace As I forget about everyday strife. Lots of trees, so cool and shady Where the birds also like to visit Germaniums and lavender bushes Sweet fragrances where-ever I sit
There is a breakfast room for mornings And a special place for tea For the gardens has many rooms Yet I know where I love to be For my favourite place in the garden As I just let the hours drift by Is my special Shangri-la under a cloudless sky

The Island of Shangri-la
Beyond the rainbows and checkered skies hides an island not often seen a mystery that often cries of melodies we do deem
This place we call Shangri-la holds sweet dreams for one and all no pains or hurts for that's the law forgiveness lines behind the shawl

Shangri-La Could I go back to Shangri-La, A place I saw only once I proved myself that it was true, This paradise where angels dance. There with the palm trees in moonshine The sand remained warm all night. Alone and far from home I sat Watched the waves mirror the star light. The rumbling breakers out in the reef, A white line behind the turquoise. Beauty so unreal it seemed - Every moment was glamorise. Dreams to travel around the world To South-Sea with thousand isles, Were always the goal I aimed for Not knowing much about miles. Those places back then still innocent With magic and mystical ways, Have changed with the world and I Might not like it now, they say. When I parted from this beautiful place Sure that I will return soon, I had no idea that there comes a time When this wish is left with the moon. Still for my Shangri-La I yearn Though would want to go there with you. We share the life, so I desire That you know my Shangri-La too!

Thanks Dee, and a wonderful Shangri-La from you Mystic, if only the places we write about could be real.
