The leaves soon will be covered with snow, but dry leaves are so beautiful. The weekly theme therefore is:
A dry leaf

When all the trees are bare The dry leaves hide the ground Rustling as they fall What a moanful sound
yet they dance and float Up and down the street And in the woods they gather as they rustle beneath our feet
floating, swirling to the earth yellow, brown and red Leaves now lay still, so lifeless For they are all tucked up in bed

A dry leaf
The Autumn leaves now fallen to the ground A carpet to our steps gives a crispy sound. Soon Winter will make them turn all same brown And the crisp of frost will show us a frown.
East wind’s breath will wrap the trees in hoar Only short moments we walk out the door, The dry leaves get soaked, in mud and snow lay, Nobody now kicking them up in fun play.
There was this special crimson Maple leaf, It attracted my eyes and with relief I collected it before it was killed, Its shape was just perfect and I so thrilled.
Carefully bedded between blotting sheets, Pressed by a thick book, life admits defeat. It keeps the purple colour, the fine shape too And is my pride of bookmark, forever ‘new’.

A Dry Leaf
A dry leaf floats to the ground from high above a branch from the tree blown by the north winds that pound A resilience which comes with a plea
Letting one know not all is forsaken come springtime a rebirth will turn when the branches will soon awaken giving a beauty not to be spurned
