With pen and paper

for many years
Since I was small
I have written poems
Long, strange or tall

I've written about the seasons
And also rainbows
Even written fantasy
Sometimes about heroes

So with paper and pen
I will continue to write
About various things
Even late in the night

Doreen, indeed you have in the years since you have been a member of poetry2share you have written a vast amount of poems. I would venture to say more then 500 poems, and that is being on the low side, I wonder just how many poems you have written in the lifetime. I know it will be a lot, but I will say this you can be proud of what you have written, and I am so glad to have come to know you, and read your large amount of poems.

With pen and paper, I write my muse
hoping to reach and touch others hearts
my thoughts at times can and do amuse
I've been known to go off the charts

But that's the purpose within my style
to make others feel a movement
hoping my words will not rile
believing my tale will reach the summit

For if my banter will touch one's heart
my gift has truly been honored
nor been wasted not even a lark
praying my poetry will be pondered

Pen and Paper

Two simple things in all-daily use,
Can tell of romance, workshop or blues.
Blank sheets of paper patiently wait
For some message of important trait.
Empty, til you take pencil or ink
To give life to thoughts, to hearts a link.

All kinds of emotions may pour out,
Laughter, kisses, tears even doubt.
Sometimes writing appears a task,
Most times we tell, inform or ask,
If we’re lucky to feel creative
We write on, stirred with incentive.
