I live near a little village
So quaint and sweet
It is not really big
Yet I know most people I meet
it has one big old church
and a small one too
many lovely houses
all have good views
Pleanty of activities
In the Church Hall
No need to get bored
there is something for all
I love living near the village
As many people care
We even have a war memorial
I so glad I live there

... And just at the last moment I scribbled mine:
My little town
Embedded in pastures and woods with green hillside
My little town, more a large village, is day dreaming
Of the action in big cities with roads leading wide
Perhaps of a famous place where the sea is gleaming
‘Sea’ is a clear blue lake, spotted with white sails
The largest of three, therefore the ‘valley of lakes’
And where the river flows out, rich with many tales
We can hear its murmuring when the day abates
Guardian seems the church way up a gentle slope
Famous for celebrations of music and light
With memories of the past when bells were rang by rope
We proudly did the service for everyone’s delight
Amazing panorama just sets your mind at peace
The long chain of mountains with caps of glaciers white
Their breath refreshing or frosty is our evening breeze
Forever majestic, glowing pink in the twilight
Right here some golden vineyards and last fields of corn
The home of my ancestors to where I have come back
My pretty little village, centuries did adorn
Here in this tranquil valley may one day end my track
