An Early Morning Swim
As I awake on a summer’s day
I hear the birds twittering, saying Hello
So I hop out of bed, and not far away
I see the pool beckoning, through the window.
I’m away on holiday
The air was cool
But the water was warm
As I dived in the pool
I like it better than the sea
For my early morning swim
I can swim so many lengths
With my long limbs

An early morning swim
Grown up at the river which was playground and fun
I used to have my swim with the rising sun.
Before breakfast and then a long way to school
It was heaven to ride the fast current still cool.
My little sister so daring tried to beat me with length
A fun-fight each morning to measure our strength.
While I enjoyed floating with my face towards sky
She dived, making out there’s a snake, so I cry.
Joy of special mornings was a blessing to share
All energy for the day we got from fresh air.
For many years this was our Summer treat
A silent yearning I feel when our river I meet.
Whether you live near a river, a lake or the sea
A morning swim is for everyone a glee.
Nothing does calm like seeing water and sky
And for no money such peace you can buy.

I love swimming in the nude
when I swim this friendly lake
trying not to be rude
I swim for my own sake
Wondering why not ask a friend
might she join in
frolicking without clothes what a message that would send
just a dream of mind I decided to pen
