Beyond the doorstep
While the door to the old year has been shut
New views open to our eyes and we can
Appreciate what lies before us but
No hindrance to focus horizon’s span.
We learn to let go what was, then though
In embrace we hold times happy and free
Days arise and go like life’s rivers flow,
Thoughts and emotions melting to one sea.
Despite the Winterlight pale and cold
We sense the magic of a new Spring,
What disappears in past is growing old
Along life’s doorway the bells do ring.
With both feet firm on the ground we stand
A clear look with vigilant mind too,
Hope that’s to peace lending a hand,
We reach forward and know, we must be true.
