Now you are gone..

You’re gone and left are only memories
Your words and poems they do remain,
Thoughts of you bring me silent tears
And I know life won’t ever be the same.

Moments shared, time now is empty
Missing my friend, I feel so sore,
Cherished treasures you left for me
And they will mean forever more.

I stare at your picture where you smile
A friendly smile for everyone,
Now I won’t see it for a real while
Until someday I too have gone.

We talked for hours about everything
And felt as it’s for eternity
Your voice, with you, has taken wing
In my heart you will forever be.

You made me laugh just every day
Even in life’s darkest times,
Now you stay silent and I ask ‘why’,
Knowing, for all a last bell chimes.

We were close friends, our hearts as one
Silence calls since you went away
May peace and rest you might have won
I’m here thinking of you and I pray.
