9/11 10 years on
I often sit and wonder why so many people had to die, on that bright September day, which only seems like yesterday. Thousands died in the blink of an eye, as the world Trade Centre, was blown from the sky. Another plane, hit the Pentagon, Flight 94, but the passengers were strong. All those people were heroes that day, As most went into work, in the normal way, But this day was different, from any before. For thousands of people, There would be no more. Strangers were helping one another, As if it was their own sister or brother. People are angry and sad and still cry, and of course, ask the question, WHY? It was like a stormy day that never ends. Where families were broken and hundreds lost friends. Today, let us only think of them, The victims, survivors and brave firemen, as well as Police, and the innocent dead. This day is about them, not what we have read. It happened ten years ago, but war still goes on. so have your moment of silence, and remember everyone. I dedicate this to everyone whose life changed On September 11, 2001

Sorry my friends, I am 'behind' with my commenting! Roland, this your latest poem - Dreamlike Caverns - is my absolute favourite of your poems and it has impressed me in an almost incredible way. It is a excellently written poem from your pen my friend and leaves me almost speechless. Thank you! (Picture will follow!)
Doreen, I like your 'simple girl' and I appreciate modesty and humbleness, therefore "simple" is a very precious character in human beings. Thank you!
Claude, you have kept your humorous way and written a lovely and witty poem that leaves a smile, thank you!

Today we all must have thought on and prayed for all the people their lives being involved to this tragedy. Thank you Doreen for so thoughtfully writing this very important poem. Then I remembered that on this day of death there also are people celebrating their birthday and babies were born...

Thanks Mystic for your kind words, as to Doreen poem on 9/11, this is a excellent poem dealing with true reality, being written by a Brits shows the friendship our nations holds for each other. Doreen you say it very well, wish it had not happened, but it did, and I know all our prayers our for those who lost their lives 10 years ago today, and more so for the love ones left behind, may they rest in peace, and may the grief of those left behind be less and less as the years go by.......

Poetry Quest Dedicated: To our Captain who must feel within his heart The words I’ve expressed, God Bless you Alan, your crew Awaits your safe return Inside the turbulence of the sea Resides the loneliness which comes not free Rapidly seeking an exit, trapped within the swirls Searching for an opening, hoping one unfurls That will reduce the tension enveloping me Allowing a calmness which holds the key To unlocking the chains which binds my soul Against shifting currents that have grown so bold For all that is sacred I kindly accept I pray in the solitude of this trek Gracious thoughts for my friends Who share their rhyme in words they send From the boundary of this test I set sail towards this poetry quest Blowing serenely, the serenity I hope will last From winds which fill the bellowing mast Written by: Roland R. Poetry Window
Through a large window I peered and I found A world within you where rainbows abound And therefore felt humbled and wondered if I Could understand reasons that explained me why My answer then met me in poems that you made As the finest of verses before me were laid Expressions so deep that told me of you And what your heart looks for in friendship so true

Leaves of Gold
when all the leaves are gold Then autumn is so bold Autumn the best season of all As trees stand, oh so tall
In the woods, the lonely trees Start to sway in the cool of the breeze.
Then as colourful leaves fall down The air is cool as leaves are strewn For soon it will be harvest time For autumn season is sublime.

LEAVES OF GOLD. "Autumn in her golden dress, made our town a lovely mess.." This poem of Doreen's reminds me of one which Mystic wrote some time ago, entitled, "Lady Autumn" I think. Could you perhaps re post it for our delight Mystic?

Lady Autumn
With footsteps lightly set, she hastens down the windy lane Red, golden, rusty leaves are whirling by her train, Her frocks flutter in the wind as she hurries past Not for a moment she’ll look back, her breath going fast. Snatching at her ragged skirt I wish to make her stay, No chance, she disappears and leaves promises of grey. Bleak Winter mornings will arrive with frosty fingers While on frozen twigs the blossom dream still lingers. Leaning from my window, a last rose gives a treat Her thorns try catching Autumn’s robe to stop her speed. Elusive, with a laugh she’ll vanish, all efforts in vain Leaving to us the promise – “I will come again”!
A re-post to Norma's request :-)

Thankyou Mystic for re posting this truly lovely poem. I have never forgotten it. I'm also glad to hear that it gave pleasure to other members. (Even though some old guys in Texas did not remember it, hee hee!)
I am delighted and excited to see on the homepage, that P2S will re open on October 1st. Does this mean that Alan is well enough to come back to us? If so, this is the best news that I have heard in a very long time. (Thankyou Mystic, for keeping the site going in Alan's absence.)

Empty Pawn
Dedicated: To all who suffer from this dreaded disease Known as Alzheimer, which robs one’s mentality Taking away the very essence of our memory May God grant with knowledge those who Seek the cure for this terrible malady Bringing peace to those who witness the Vanishing of a love one’s dignity
What lies between the breezes amid the fabric of life’s streams? A rainbow unbeknown to those who shy away from dreams Guiding one to saunter amidst the dew of the morning dawn In mournful moods I clamor for I’ve become an empty pawn
I tread upon this emptiness without a goal to call my own Seeking that certain feeling which will set a binding tone Releasing the many memories which seem to gone astray For I am aging with forgetfulness my mind begins to stray
From a dreaded disease called Alzheimer, I fear I will succumb To a sensation of not knowing, my brain churning to bits of crumbs Giving time to realize what soon will be my fate I turn to my companion who has been my trusting mate
Caressing with tenderness I take you in my arms Whispering sweet nothings using all my manly charms Kissing your moisten lips letting you know how much I’ve cared To calm what you must feel from all the years we’ve shared
With our house in order, we will pray what days remain Be filled with loving kindness that will rid us of the pain From a terrible malady which robs one’s mentality Recalling all we ever done, will soon be your reality
So know my darling dearest I’ll soon walk all alone With only fading recollections of this loving home Take care and do not fear, for God will guide my heart Towards a beacon of lasting light, which takes away the dark?

Clandestine 9:11
9 and 2 makes 11. 2 are what died. Around 9 is when-We all said our good byes. 9:11 made this world Cry…. An apple at a time, Temples topple over; Gravity, tugging your crowns- So plays the 9th symphony 1 and 1 we all fall down. Whipped by the scorpions-Tail. Hear the sound of their wings, Dead on; no miss. Fiery chariots approaching & Appolyon driving them Into zero abyss. 9 and 2 makes 11. 2 are what died. Around 9 is when We all wondered how and why? 9:11 query into and told: “let those sleeping dogs lie!” More stars in The skyline tonight. The light forever shines; the 9th planet far from the sun. 1-and-1-read-be-tween-the-lines. We all must sing along-With the crimson serpent. Whose goats must have-ate everything in their path. . A Dragon’s deadly breathe.(Maybe?) All gone wrong by the eagle’s wrath. 9 and 2 makes 11. 2 are what died. Around 9 is when-We all witnessed the unspoken atrocity. 9:11 clandestine; hope those cut'throat cravens die! Die-with-your-lies! 9 and 2 makes 11. 2 are what were crucified. Around 9 is when-We all said our good byes. A thousand souls suffered and died, 9 piece picture puzzle, 1-by-1-angel-at –a-time! 9:11 has mothers weep and cry. Can’t you face them and tell them the real reason why? 9:11 broke this patriotic heart. How did this happen? So mystified as-why are you so afraid to cry? So disconnected-clandestine 9:11-you still deny!

CPD- Thank you for the comment but yes I cannot seem to format it from my smart phone. I hope someone has a suggestion because currently I don't have a computer. And the poem is sort of cryptic. P.S. I am sure you are not dense. And I would like to read your poems. So under what name do I check them out ?

Clandestine 9:11 Thanks for posting MM42. It certainly is a very serious and moving poem and we all remember 9/11. I hope I could help to ease the read a little by trying to slightly alter the format. If you don't agree with, then I can put it back to your original format.

Empty Pawn This precious dedication is a very kind and thoughtful poem of yours Roland. It is a disease that still frightens us so much and not only the ill person suffers but all the family involved has to go through hell, as to say so. Thank you in the name of all who know about this illness by facts.
